What Does "Assisted Living" Really Mean?

Assisted living facilities are residences that provide help with the activities of daily life, while emphasizing their residents’ privacy and freewill. At Kenton Pointe, we provide the daily supportive services you need, while still respecting and catering to the way you want to live. It means that we are here to help you with the little things, so you can continue to enjoy your independence. Some of the services we offer include assistance with grooming, administration of medications, and help with housekeeping.

“Assisted living” does not mean the same thing as “living in a nursing home.” Unlike a nursing home, we do not directly deliver health care services, and our residents must be ambulatory, so that they can exit the building without assistance from another person in case of an emergency. Finally, assisted living communities offer a higher degree of independence and privacy than most nursing homes do.
